ORANJESTAD, Aruba, March 19 (UPI) -- Police investigating the 2005 disappearance of teenager Natalee Holloway in Aruba say they will study a photograph of a skeleton found on the ocean floor.
Deputy Chief Adolpho Richardson, the lead investigator in the case, said the underwater photograph taken in October 2009 will be reviewed to determine if the skeleton is from Holloway, who was 18, The Birmingham (Ala.) News reported Friday.
The skeleton rests on the ocean floor off the coast of Aruba.
"We try to leave no stone unturned, so we will look into it," Richardson told the News. "Although the chances are very slim that it will lead to any results."
Holloway, who was from Alabama, was last seen outside a nightclub in Oranjestad, Aruba, prior to a scheduled flight home on May 30, 2005.
The Lancaster New Era said the photo was taken last year by John and Patti Muldowney of Rapho Township, Pa., during their Aruban vacation.
