The 53-year-old Ritter was treated at Denver Health Medical Center.

"He is OK and he is in good spirits," spokesman Evan Dreyer said. "He is joking and laughing."

Ritter's wife Jeannie was with the governor at the hospital.

The other cyclist received a minor injury and was not hospitalized, the Post said.
