Man accused of not disclosing his AIDS

GREENWOOD, Ind., Feb. 23 (UPI) -- An Indiana HIV-positive man faces a felony charge for having sex with as many as 100 partners without telling them he is carrying the AIDS virus, police said.

Greenwood police said they received between 40 and 48 phone messages over the weekend saying Tony Perkins, who contracted the AIDS virus approximately six years ago, failed to advise sexual partners of his illness, WISH-TV in Indianapolis reported Monday.

The calls began after news reports Saturday that Perkins faces a felony charge for nondisclosure of his condition to partners, police said.

The calls were from women who feared they may have been infected by Perkins and from others who worried someone they knew may have contracted the virus from Perkins, police said.

Perkins is in custody in the Johnson County Jail.
