JOLIET, Ill., Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Kathleen Savio's sister testified Tuesday in an Illinois court that Drew Peterson once threatened to kill Savio while holding a knife to Savio's throat.

The Chicago Tribune said the allegation against Peterson was made during Susan Savio Doman's testimony at an evidentiary hearing in Will County Court. Peterson is charged with murder in the 2004 death of his ex-wife.

"She was terrified," Doman said. "She said he was going to kill her. She told him to do it and just get it over with."

Defense attorneys allege Doman is seeking fame and money with a wrongful death suit, as well as a book and movie deal, the Tribune said.

Doman told attorneys that she is acting as her sister's voice. "This is not about money, this is about getting the story out about my sister," she said.
