ENCINITAS, Calif., Jan. 5 (UPI) -- The family of a Korean-American who entered North Korea on a Christian mission says they have heard nothing on his condition or location.
North Korea has confirmed only that a U.S. citizen is being held. Relatives say Robert Park, 28, who lives in Arizona, crossed the border into North Korea Christmas Day with letters asking Kim Jong Il to free political detainees and to allow humanitarian groups into his country.
Paul Park of Encinitas, Calif., told The San Diego Union-Tribune the family has set up a special e-mail address for those wishing to send messages of support. The address is [email protected].
"In this hour of our need, on behalf of the Park family and friends, I thank you for your ongoing support, compassion and humanitarian interest for my brother Robert Park," Paul said in a statement Monday. "As we enter 2010, my New Year's resolution is to be able to hold my brother in my arms and to say, 'I love you.'"
