WASHINGTON, Dec. 24 (UPI) -- Michaele Salahi claims, in footage filmed for a reality TV show, she discussed the sari she planned to wear to a White House dinner with the social secretary.
Salahi's preparations for the Nov. 24 state dinner for Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh were filmed for a proposed show to be shown on Bravo. Staff with the House Homeland Security Committee viewed the footage Wednesday, The Washington Post reported.
The White House says Salahi and her husband, Tareq, were not invited to the dinner or to any other event during Singh's visit. Previously, the couple have said a Pentagon official had been trying to get them an invitation and they believed from her e-mails that she had succeeded.
Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., the ranking Republican on the committee, said the White House has not given satisfactory information on how the Salahis were able to get into the dinner. The White House has said Desiree Rogers, the White House social secretary, would not testify.
The Salahis were turned away at a Secret Service checkpoint when they tried to enter the White House grounds by car but passed through two checkpoints on foot.
