PRAGUE, Czech Republic, Dec. 2 (UPI) -- A Czech artist and dissident has dismissed allegations that he once spied on the U.S. Embassy in Prague for the Communist secret service.
In addition to denying the charge, Joska Skalnik said he would not comment on the specific facts in the case, the Czech news agency CTK reported Wednesday.
Last month the Czech Institute for the Studies of Totalitarian Regimes published information about Skalnik's alleged contacts with the Communist secret service.
The institute said it found a number of documents showing that Skalnik was a secret collaborator operating under the cover name "Black" in files dealing with the shadowing of U.S. diplomats.
