Fourth goat found wandering in New York

NEW YORK, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- A New York Animal Care & Control official says a goat was found wandering in the city, marking the fourth time such a discovery occurred in as many months.

Animal Care & Control official Richard Gentles said the discovery of the 2-year-old goat near the Hutchinson River Parkway represents the most recent chapter in a "great mystery," the New York Daily News said Wednesday.

"We really don't know where they are coming from," Gentles said of the goats. "That's the great mystery right now."

The goat discovered Saturday had mutilated ears and was suffering from pneumonia, leading officials to treat the animal and relocate it to a farm in Watkins Glen, N.Y.

The discovery of the goat follows a September discovery of an ailing goat, which later died of its illnesses, and the July discovery of two baby goats near the location of Saturday's discovery.
