Three men arrested in teenager's death

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Three men have been arrested in the death of 18-year-old Keighley Alyea, who vanished a week ago in Kansas City, Mo., police said.

The men were arrested after Alyea's body was found, police spokesman Jim Weaver told The Kansas City Star in a story published Tuesday.

Police have not said where or when Alyea's body was found and they did not release the suspects' names or details of the arrest, the Star reported.

Alyea vanished last Tuesday. Her 1993 Mazda 626 was found during the weekend in the city's Overland Park neighborhood and towed to a lot to search it for evidence, Weaver said.

Authorities had been concerned Alyea was in danger after a Sept. 28 incident in which she intervened in a violent argument between her ex-boyfriend and his sister, Weaver said.

Alyea's parents declined to comment on word their daughter had been found and arrests had been made, the Star reported.
