TEHRAN, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Iranian officials said it responded to all "legal and technical questions" about its nuclear program following a visit to the country to U.N. inspectors.

Ali Asghar Soltanieh, the Iranian envoy to the International Atomic Energy Agency, said Tehran was committed to talking to the IAEA about its nuclear program. Adversaries, however, shouldn't try to manipulate Tehran's relationship with the inspectors.

"Recent meetings between Iranian officials and IAEA inspectors had good results but reaching a final agreement needs more negotiations and time; Iran answered all legal and technical questions regarding its nuclear activities," he told the official Islamic Republic News Agency.

IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano, in a statement released after inspectors returned from Iran this week, said it was "disappointing" Iran didn't grant access to certain nuclear installations in the country.

Iran is accused of working on the technology needed to produce a nuclear weapon, though Tehran maintains the program is for peaceful purposes.

The country's ruling cleric, Ali Khamenei, declared Iran had no need for a nuclear weapon. IAEA inspectors had said, however, there were some military aspects to certain parts of Iran's nuclear program.

In early February, Iranian officials had warned the IAEA its inspectors would be barred from the country if they're suspected of misleading the global community.
