PRAGUE, Czech Republic, May 19 (UPI) -- A multinational exercise taking place in the Czech Republic is designed to strengthen interoperability among armed forces ahead of future deployments.
Troops from Denmark, Canada, Lithuania, Germany, England and the Czech Republic are participating in a three-week exercise at the Jince training ranges in western Czech Republic to develop stronger communication capabilities among nations and between aircraft and land forces, the British Ministry of Defense reported.
The exercise, called Flying Rhino, involves training with tactical aircraft, rockets and live artillery among other operations designed to provide military units training on interoperability and cooperation for future multinational deployments.
"Our focus was to achieve the most effective joint fire integration between air and land forces, supported by a fully digital headquarters," Brig. Rob Weighill, British Royal Artillery commander, said in a statement. This is an "opportunity for our servicemen and women to operate in a multinational environment with all the unique challenges that involves -- including overcoming language difficulties."
