TSA names new security head for Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla., April 3 (UPI) -- The Transportation Security Administration announced the appointment of a new head of federal security at the Orlando International Airport in Florida.

The TSA has named 20-year Coast Guard veteran John Daly as the new federal security director at the Orlando International Airport and also the Sanford International Airport, the TSA reported.

Daly comes from a background that includes law enforcement and national defense missions. During President George W. Bush's administration, Daly was a director on the Homeland Security Council staff and was responsible for implementing policies to support the security of land ports of entry.

"With extensive security experience at both the national and field levels, John brings a broad perspective to the position of federal security director," Lee Kair, TSA assistant administrator for security operations, said in a statement.
