NEW DELHI, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- India said it would dispatch another missive to Pakistan seeking the whereabouts of all its wanted fugitives through Interpol.
India's Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday wrote to Pakistan's Federal Investigating Agency to confirm the presence of its most-wanted man, Dawood Ibrahim, in that country.
The agency said it would also send the files of criminals who are wanted through Interpol, asking about the whereabouts of those accused in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts and the hijacking of an Indian Airlines flight IC-814 to Kandahar in Afghanistan.
According to a top CBI official, the timing is important as Pakistan is under pressure to crack down on al-Qaida and other terrorist groups.
The official said CBI chief Vijay Shankar would send the lists of Indian fugitives who the country believes have been given shelter in Pakistan. He will submit the lists to Interpol in Islamabad. The agency says about 20 more people accused in the Mumbai blasts have been seen in various Pakistani cities.
