TIRANA, Albania, July 18 (UPI) -- A bus crashed in Albania Saturday, killing 13 people and injuring 15 others, a government spokeswoman said.
Government spokeswoman Erla Mehilli, in a statement posted on Albania's official Web site, called the crash "a serious, tragic accident.
She said Sunday had been declared a day of mourning for the victims, which included children. Flags were to be flown at half staff in state institutions and a minute of silence was to be observed.
She said all of Albania shares the pain, sadness and grief with the families of the victims and their relatives. She also said the government would pay the burial expenses of the victims.
