April 20 (UPI) -- A keeper at the Topeka Zoo in Kansas was hospitalized Saturday after being attacked by a Sumatran tiger.
The keeper, whose name was not released, suffered cuts in the arm, back, head and neck. The attack happened about 9:15 a.m. when the 7-year-old tiger named Sanjiv "tackled" her.

"A few people did see the attack," Molly Hadfield, a spokeswoman for the city, told ABC.
Brendan Wiley, director of the Topeka Zoo, said that while the incident was unfortunate, the tiger "did what a wild tiger does."
Wiley said the keeper was the tiger's primary caretaker.
After the attack, the zoo closed for 45 minutes.
Wiley said Sanjiv will not be euthanized for the attack.
