Rumors that Steve Irwin's daughter, Bindi Irwin, had died went viral on the Internet Thursday, infuriating the late Crocodile Hunter's fans given that Bindi is alive and well.

News that 14-year-old Bindi had passed away originated due to a "trend hiccup," a glitch that occurs when aggregators create trends based on erroneous word association patterns.

In Bindi's case, her name was garnering attention on the web, but because people were searching for "Steve Irwin's daughter" instead of her actual name the term became tangled with news of her father's passing. And thus the term "Steve Irwin daughter dies," surfaced and went viral.

While all this was happening, Bindi posted several tweets including a photo of a beach and a video of a trip she took to Hong Kong.

Bindi, who lives in Australia with her mother, Terri Irwin, and her younger brother, Robert Clarence Irwin, spends her time serving as wildlife conservationist and attending the Australian Zoo.
