SPRINGS, South Africa, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- An explosion ripped through a factory near Johannesburg, South Africa, Thursday, killing three people and injuring five others, authorities said.

Ekurhuleni emergency services told the South African Press Association the blast at a Sincor factory in Springs, outside Johannesburg, sent some people flying out of the building.

The explosion appeared to be related to argon gas, but further details were unavailable, SAPA reported.
