BELLINGHAM, Wash., Aug. 31 (UPI) -- Police in Whatcom County, Wash., say the body of an infant was found near the site where a 2-month-old child recently disappeared.
KOMO-TV, Seattle, said the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office is awaiting identification of the infant, whose remains were found east of Custer, Wash., on Sunday afternoon.
The infant's body was found after authorities began an extensive search in the area for a 2-month-old boy reported missing last Friday. A possible cause of death for the infant was not reported.
The missing baby, identified as Jon "Cecil" Anthony Frazier, was reported missing from his home by his father and grandmother, who were not identified.
Police said the baby's father is being questioned in relation to the missing baby case, which is being considered a homicide.
"It would be suspicious. It's highly unusual and suspicious, and we definitely consider that the child is in danger," Sheriff's Deputy Jeff Parks said Friday.
