JERUSALEM, Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Israel Police say they want to provide patrol units with Segways, two-wheeled vehicles with electric motors.
The police force said the vehicles must be equipped with special devices to prevent theft, Maariv said Monday.
Police said that once the Segways are purchased they will test them over a three- to six month period before integrating them into various units, the newspaper said.
Segway vehicles were invented in the United States. They can reach speeds of 12.5 mph.
