MOON, Pa., Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Professional wrestler Kurt Angle was free on bond Sunday after being arrested for allegedly violating his girlfriend's restraining order, police say.

Angle, 40, of Moon, Pa., was arrested Saturday morning in the parking lot of a supermarket in Robinson, Pa., the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported. Taking refuge inside of the store was girlfriend Trenesh Biggers, who had reportedly obtained a protection from abuse order earlier in the day.

A police affidavit indicated that in addition to allegedly breaking the restraining order, Angle was charged with harassment, possession of the human growth hormone Hygetropin and possession of a syringe to use the hormone, the newspaper said.

Police said Angle claimed the drug was legally prescribed to him and denied stalking Biggers. The Post-Gazette said the wrestler's car was towed because he was driving on a license that had been suspended after a previous drunken-driving arrest.

Angle was released from the Allegheny County Jail Saturday afternoon on bail, a court clerk told the Pittsburgh Review-Tribune. He won a gold medal in at the 1996 summer Olympics in Atlanta and has been a professional wrestler since 1998, the newspaper said.
