Broadcaster shut down for sex show

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- Saudi Arabia shut down the offices of a Lebanese broadcaster after it aired an interview with a Saudi man who boasted of his sexual exploits, an official said.

The Jeddah office of Lebanese Broadcasting Corp. was closed Sunday and the Riyadh office Monday, CNN reported. An official called the closings "open-ended."

Abdul-Rahman al-Hazza, a spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Culture and Information, said the Jeddah office did not have a license but its programming also violated "media policy." He said the Riyadh office had a license.

Saudi Prince al-Waleed bin Talal is LBC's majority owner.

The offending program, an episode of "A Thick Red Line," showed Mazen Abdul Jawad, 32, discussing his sex life from his initiation at the age of 14 to footage showing him looking for women in Jeddah. Jawad, an airline employee, is divorced.
