CHICAGO, July 30 (UPI) -- Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich is set to release a book that offers a comprehensive take on his impeachment and removal from office, a publisher says.

Dan Smetanka, managing editor for Phoenix Books, said when "The Governor: The Truth Behind the Political Scandal That Continues to Rock the Nation" is released on Sept. 8, readers will be surprised by Blagojevich's take on his fall from power, the Chicago Tribune said Thursday.

"It's a much more engaging and comprehensive book than what people may have realized," Smetanka said.

Phoenix Books offered Blagojevich, who was removed from office in January amid a corruption scandal, a six-figure deal to write the 352-page hardcover book.

Smetanka told the Tribune the release of the book, which will retail for $24.95, will be supported by a U.S. publicity tour involving radio and TV promotions.
