WASHINGTON, June 8 (UPI) -- A little thing like a broken bone couldn't trip up U.S. Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor from making courtesy calls on Capitol Hill Monday.

Sotomayor apparently stumbled at LaGuardia Airport n New York when preparing to fly to Washington for the latest round of pre-confirmation hearing discussions with congressional leadership, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said.

"She flew to D.C. I think it was looked at when she got here, and she was advised to go get X-rays, which she did. I think she spent a couple of hours getting the cast," Gibbs said, "and the last time I saw video, (she was) up on Capitol Hill continuing to meet with senators as part of her meetings surrounding her nomination."

On Sotomayor's schedule were Sens. Max Baucus, D-Mont., Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, Kay Hagan, D-N.C., Mary Landrieu, D-La., Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., and David Vitter, R-La.

Gibbs said President Barack Obama hadn't spoken to Sotomayor about her mishap.
