NEW YORK, May 15 (UPI) -- An 8-year-old girl in the New York borough of Brooklyn is in stable condition despite falling 30 feet through a skylight in an area building, authorities say.
Authorities said the girl, whose identity was not reported, had been playing on a rooftop playground Thursday when she stepped on a skylight and accidentally broke through the glass, the New York Post reported Friday.
The girl fell through the skylight into a multipurpose room where a class was taking place. No one else was hurt in the incident.
The girl suffered unspecified injuries and was taken to Lutheran Medical Center, the Post said.
Authorities told the newspaper the child had been on her way to the street to retrieve a ball when the accident occurred.
