ORLANDO, Fla., April 22 (UPI) -- A Florida man whose twin brother faces the same charges has been convicted of killing two men during a robbery at a house party.
Donte Hall, 24, could face the death penalty for the double murder, The Orlando Sentinel reported. The penalty phase of his trial is to begin Wednesday.
Jurors deliberated for only 90 minutes before finding Hall guilty of a long list of charges. His girlfriend, Angel Glenn, who was a stripper at the party, was a key witness for the prosecution after being offered immunity on charges that included capital murder, although she still faces a prison term for conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
James Hall, Dante's father, was angry at Glenn's testimony.
"They had to believe her," he said. "How could the jury possibility believe anything that came out of her mouth?"
Prosecutors said Donte and Dante Hall and two other men learned about the house party in Eustis from Glenn, who knew about the planned robbery and was to get a share of the take. The party was robbed by three masked men who demanded money, drugs and jewelry.
Investigators said Hall began shooting with an assault rifle.
Dante Hall is scheduled for trial in August.
