SEOUL, April 13 (UPI) -- South Korean prosecutors have questioned an in-law of former President Roh Moo-hyun in an unfolding government bribery scandal, sources say.
Investigators over the weekend questioned Yeon Chul-ho, a son-in-law of the former president's older brother Roh Gun-pyeong, querying him in connection with $5 million he allegedly received from the businessman at the center of the scandal, Park Yeon-cha, unnamed sources told the South Korean news agency Yonhap Monday.
Police say Park distributed millions of dollars to political figures, including confidantes of Roh, in exchange for governmental favors. The probe is reportedly now focusing on Roh's family after the former president admitted on his Web site last week that his wife, Kwon Yang-sook, took money from Park.
The news agency said Roh Gun-ho, son of the former president, was also underwent weekend questioning by prosecutors after he hurriedly returning to South Korea from the United States.
Prosecutors and police are expected to summon Roh Moo-hyun himself later this week, Yonhap reported.
