Search continues for missing Ontario girl

WOODSTOCK, Ontario, April 11 (UPI) -- Canadian investigators have found no trace of an 8-year-old girl since she vanished Wednesday on her way home from school, police said Saturday.

Constable Laurie-Anne Maitland said at a news conference in Woodstock, Ontario, that the time of the last sighting of Victoria Stafford is unclear, the Toronto Star reported.

A security camera recorded Victoria, nicknamed Tori, walking with a woman at 3:32 p.m. But Maitland said the girl's school says she was there until 3:40 p.m. and the clock may not have been set for the correct time.

Woodstock, about 75 miles southwest of Toronto, is a dairy center that bills itself as the "Friendly City."

Investigators have been inundated with tips and rumors, the Star said. But appeals to the woman seen with Tori in the video to come forward have gone unanswered.

Police officers and volunteers searched for any trace of Tori Saturday without result.
