ORANGE CITY, Fla., March 26 (UPI) -- Police in Volusia County, Fla., said Thursday that suspected killer Bryan Langford had numerous firearms inside the home where he took his own life.
Volusia County Sheriff Ben Johnson said numerous guns and ammunition were found in various rooms of the home where Langford, 38, allegedly killed one of his two suspected victims, the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel reported Thursday.
Upon the discovery of the weaponry, Johnson expressed relief that Langford chose not to confront police officers Wednesday.
"He was ready for combat. I'm really amazed that he took his own life," Johnson said. "It appears he had every intention of taking us on."
Police suspect Langford went to a bar in Deltona, Fla., Wednesday and killed Louis Adams, the son of his girlfriend, Cynthia Henderson.
Henderson's body was found in the home she shared with Langford, an apparent victim of the suspected gunman before he turned a gun on himself, police said.
The Sentinel said Orange City Police Officer Sherif El-Shami was wounded Wednesday when Langford allegedly fired on the officer's car from his home.
