LA HABRA, Calif., March 16 (UPI) -- The California house where an unemployed single mother intends to raise her 14 children, including newborn octuplets, was inspected by hospital staff Monday.
Jim Anderson, a spokesman for Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, declined to say what the inspectors had concluded about Nadya Suleman's new La Habra residence, The Orange County Register reported. It was the second time hospital officials had gone over the house in preparation for the babies' homecoming, the newspaper said.
Suleman's father, Ed Doud, visited the house Monday morning but only shrugged when reporters asked if the babies would arrive Monday, the Register said.
Jackie Peebles of Angels in Waiting, an agency that will provide nursing services for the babies, wasn't able to provide a time table, either.
"We want to make sure that everything will be safe for them," Peebles said. "Our team is ready. We're more than ready."
