Rove says Democrats are after him

WASHINGTON, March 5 (UPI) -- Ex-White House adviser Karl Rove says he is looking forward to telling the House Judiciary Committee about his alleged role in the firing of U.S. prosecutors.

Rove, who worked in the Bush administration also told Fox News that he wants to tell his side of the story when it comes to the prosecution of former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman, which critics say was politically motivated.

Rove has avoided talking to lawmakers because former President George W. Bush has exerted executive privilege on Rove's behalf.

The newspaper said lawyers for Bush and President Obama reached an agreement Monday that will allow Rove to be deposed by the Judiciary Committee.

"Some Democrats would love to have me barbecued," Fox quoted Rove as saying.
