A Guangzhou Municipal Disease Control and Prevention Center official said the victims were hospitalized Wednesday night with acute gastroenteritis symptoms due to food poisoning.
A doctor said it was possible the liver contained clenbuterol, a banned additive in pig feed that could be fatal in humans, the state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
