BOSTON, Calif., Feb. 8 (UPI) -- A construction worker injured when a crane with a 110-foot arm toppled over in downtown Boston has died and a second is in serious condition, authorities say.
The crane fell Saturday morning during an inspection of a roof on a seven-story dormitory at Suffolk University, The Boston Globe reported Sunday, noting the workers were in the crane's basket.
James Williamson died Saturday night and Greg Johnson remained in serious condition, said a spokeswoman at Massachusetts General Hospital.
The crane's arm grazed the outside of a book shop and hit the back of building on Temple Street, said Mark Raab, 30, who was at home.
"My bedroom is in the corner where the crane hit my building," Raab said. "I thought it was an explosion or something."
