China's VP to tour six countries

BEIJING, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping says economic development tops his agenda for visits to Malta and five Latin American countries this month.

Xi left Beijing Sunday for a tour of Malta, Mexico, Jamaica, Colombia,

Venezuela and Brazil, reported Xinhua, China's state-run news agency.

Xi, who is to return to China Feb. 22, is being accompanied by officials from China's Foreign Ministry and banking and economic development agencies.
