Rocket hits Israel's Ashkelon area

JERUSALEM, Jan. 31 (UPI) -- Palestinians in the northern Gaza Strip fired a rocket at Israel Saturday, officials said.

The Jerusalem Post reported the attack marked the third rocket strike from Gaza since Israel and Hamas declared a cease-fire on Jan. 18.

The rocket landed near a kibbutz in the Ashkelon area. There were no reports of casualties or damage.

On Thursday, a rocket was fired at the Sha'ar Hanegev region, and on Wednesday a rocket landed in the Eskol region. There were no casualties or damage from the attacks, officials said.
