Sources: Slain woman Curry's ex-girlfriend

CHICAGO, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- A 24-year-old woman found slain in her Chicago apartment this weekend is the mother of NBA player Eddy Curry's young son, sources say.

Found dead Saturday were Nova Henry, 24, and her infant daughter, Ava, authorities told the Chicago Tribune. The newspaper quoted unnamed sources saying Henry was the mother of Curry's 3-year-old son, who was allegedly found in the apartment unharmed.

Police told the newspaper they were searching for a "known acquaintance" of the woman in connection with the homicides. A source close to the ex-Chicago Bulls and current New York Knicks player said Curry, a married father of four, maintains he is not the father of Henry's slain 9-month-old daughter.

Rob Bryant, who told the Chicago Sun-Times he was Nova Henry's uncle, said she had a restraining order against a current boyfriend, adding, "She was trying to avoid all this."

Curry's former limousine driver filed a lawsuit last week, accusing the basketball player of sexual harassment and racial discrimination. The driver alleges Curry made unwelcome sexual advances and once pointed a gun at him, the Tribune said.
