NEW YORK, Jan. 23 (UPI) -- A Brooklyn man says the knife an enraged sushi chef allegedly pulled on him after a traffic altercation was the biggest he had ever seen.
Jack Zaiback, 23, told the New York Post he feared he might be killed as Yao Zhou, 37, allegedly sliced up his face and body to the tune of 100 stitches.
"It was a big knife, I've never seen a knife that big in my life," said Zaiback, who was himself charged with assault stemming from the fracas, the Post said Friday.
According to police, the two combatants were involved in a fairly minor incident in which the van Zaiback was driving cut off Zhou's car in Staten Island on Wednesday. Zaiback said while they were checking for possible damage, Zhou allegedly produced a foot-long sushi knife and began slicing.
Police spotted the pair doing battle and pulled over to break things up. Zhou was arrested on assault charges and freed on $20,000 bond.
