Obama says Bush a 'good man'

BEDFORD HEIGHTS, Ohio, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- U.S. President-elect Barack Obama says he disagrees with George Bush's policies but thinks the departing president is a good man.

"I mean, I think personally he is a good man who loves his family and loves his country," Obama said Friday in an exclusive interview with CNN in Bedford Heights, Ohio.

Obama said he still believes, however, the Bush administration "made a series of bad choices and we are now going to be inheriting the consequences," CNN reported Saturday.

On other topics, Obama said the remaining $350 billion of the $700 billion bailout bill approved by Congress last year will be spent to get credit flowing again in 2009 to small businesses.

"If they can't get credit, then they end up having to shutter their doors. And when they shutter their doors, people lose jobs," Obama said, vowing to "reverse that path."
