8 killed in S. Korea karaoke bar fire

BUSAN, South Korea, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Eight people were killed and another was seriously injured in a fire at a South Korean karaoke bar, officials said.

Police in Busan told the South Korean news agency Yonhap dozens of other bar patrons escaped when the fire broke out around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Police are trying to determine what started the blaze and are confirming the number of casualties, Yonhap reported.
