WASHINGTON, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Christine Ann Durbin, daughter of U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., and Loretta Durbin died Saturday of a heart ailment, a spokesman for the senator said.
Joe Shoemaker, communications director for the Senate majority whip, said in a statement that she died of complications relating to a lifelong congenital heart condition. She was 40.

"For sixteen years she worked in the Emerging Markets Division of the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington," Shoemaker said.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband Marty Johnson, a son and two siblings, Shoemaker said. Funeral arrangements were pending.
