Work place accidents, especially in mines, plants and construction areas, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of people every year have become common in China as the country's economic growth continues to outpace safety standards, the BBC reported.

The report said earlier this week 11 people died and another 12 were injured in Chongqing in southwest China after their crane container fell to the ground at a building site.
