Nancy Reagan leaves UCLA hospital

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- Former U.S. first lady Nancy Reagan left a Los Angeles hospital and has returned home after breaking her pelvis, medical officials say.

Reagan, 87, was admitted to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center on Tuesday after a fall at her Bel Air, Calif., home, but has been released and is expected to fully recover, CNN reported Saturday.

UCLA Medical Center Joanne Drake said in a written statement that Reagan has been prescribed a regimen of daily physical therapy and would reduce her public schedule. Tests showed she had sustained a fractured pelvis and sacrum.

The widow of President Ronald Reagan, who died in 2004, issued a news release in which she thanked those who prayed for her and sent get-well wishes, the broadcaster said.
