China probes anesthesia-related deaths

BEIJING, Oct. 14 (UPI) -- The Chinese Health Ministry says it has sent its experts to investigate four anesthesia-related deaths at a hospital in eastern Fujian province.

The deaths occurred between Sept. 24 and last Saturday at the No. 2 Hospital in Sanming, Xinhua reported, adding all four people -- one woman and four men -- were under surgical anesthesia when they died.

The report said no other details were available.
