Sheriff's deputy bitten by rattlesnake

PARKER, Colo., Oct. 7 (UPI) -- A Colorado law enforcement officer was recovering after crashing his patrol car while suffering an adverse reaction to a rattlesnake bite.

Edward Roberson, a patrol deputy with the Douglas County Sheriff's Department, was bitten Friday after he responded to a call of a rattlesnake in a street of a Parker subdivision, KMGH-TV reported Monday. When Roberson arrived in the area, he saw children playing nearby so he decided to move the snake.

Cocha Heyden, a county spokeswoman, said Roberson called for help when he reacted to the bite as he drove away. He then lost control of the car and crashed into a field.

Roberson was reported in good condition Monday at Parker Adventist Hospital.
