UNITED NATIONS, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- A United Nations-contracted helicopter crashed in the Darfur region of Sudan, killing all four crew members aboard, a U.N. spokeswoman said Tuesday.
"Preliminary reports indicate there are four crew members dead and that the aircraft" was destroyed, spokeswoman Marie Okabe said in a United Nations news release issued from New York. "There were no passengers on board."

The U.N.-African Union Hybrid Mission in Darfur reported the helicopter crashed Tuesday near the Kalma camp for internally displaced persons after departing from Nyala, the capital of South Darfur, Okabe said.
