Mother of missing child charged again

ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 15 (UPI) -- The mother of a missing Florida girl turned herself in Monday to face unrelated petty theft, check forgery and identity theft charges, authorities said.

Casey Anthony, 22, who is considered by police to be a person of interest in the disappearance of her 3-year-old daughter, Caylee, showed up at the Orange County jail where she was arrested, Maitland radio station WFLA reported. It is the third time she has been arrested, having previously been charged with theft and neglect, the radio station said.

The disappearance of her daughter three months ago has triggered protests in the neighborhood where Anthony lives with her parents. The neighborhood's homeowners association is seeking an injunction to keep the protesters away. A circuit court is expected to take up that matter no earlier than Tuesday, WFLA reported.
