MADISON, Wis., Sept. 13 (UPI) -- A 38-year-old Wisconsin man has admitted traveling across state lines to have sex with a 14-year-old girl he met online, officials said.
Todd William Orth of Madison faces up to 30 years in prison and a $250,000 fine after pleading guilty to federal charges of having sex with the girl, who he met online last December, the U.S. attorney's office said.
Even after knowing her age, Orth had several contacts with the girl on the Internet and on the telephone. In April, they discussed meeting for sex. Prosecutors say Orth drove to Iowa in June, had sex with her, then returned to Wisconsin, The Des Moines Register reported Saturday.
Orth pleaded guilty Friday to one count of interstate travel with intent to commit criminal sexual activity with a minor. He is in jail, pending sentencing.
