First female bigamy charges filed in Ky.

COVINGTON, Ky., Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Authorities in Kentucky have accused a woman of bigamy, the first time such charges have been filed against a woman in the state's history.

Commonwealth Attorney of Kenton County Rob Sanders alleges that Barbara Ann Moore is married to at least three men and is wanted by authorities after missing a probation hearing, Cincinnati's WLWT-TV reported Tuesday.

"She didn't show up for her latest probation hearing and there's a warrant out for her arrest," Sanders said. "Getting married is complicated enough -- being married to three people at one time is an untenable situation for everybody."

Robert Parchman, Moore's first husband, told the TV station that he is engaged to another woman but has been unable to convince Moore to sign divorce papers.

He alleged that Moore has married at least two other men during the last 10 years and has spent some time in jail after her third marriage. He told WLWT-TV that Moore may have a total of four husbands, saying he heard his wife had married a man in Cincinnati.
