WASHINGTON, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- A survey released Monday said most U.S. residents believe women can be political leaders, although most consider them to be no better than men.
The poll from the Pew Research Center said only 6 percent of the adults surveyed considered women to have better skills and attributes than men when it comes to political leadership abilities.
"The fact that such a large majority of respondents (69 percent) say that women and men make equally good political leaders is itself a measure of the profound changes in women's role in society that have taken place over the past several decades," Pew said in a written statement.
Among the findings was more than half of the 2,250 adults surveyed considered women to be more honest than men compared to one-in-five who thought men were more honest. The poll also favored women for being more creative, outgoing and compassionate.
Men got the nod for being more decisive than their female counterparts.
