CHICAGO, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Officials have accused a Chicago woman of fatally stabbing her elderly boyfriend after finding him drinking her beer.
Assistant State's Attorney Susanne Groebner alleged in court Thursday that Regina Williams, 55, killed 77-year-old Willie Anderson after he began drinking her beer while they were sitting in a car together, the Chicago Tribune reported.
Groebner told Cook County Bond Court Judge Israel Desierto that while Anderson began calling for help Wednesday night, Williams allegedly continued to stab him with a knife she carried for protection.
A corresponding arrest report said Williams then got out of the car and told Anderson's nephew, who was down the street, "You better come get your uncle -- I just killed him."
According to the Cook County public defender's office Williams has a history of mental illness, the Tribune said,.
Williams is facing homicide charges in relation to the crime and is being held on $500,000 bail, the newspaper said.
