Man killed over rude remarks to waitress

SAN FRANCISCO, June 17 (UPI) -- A San Francisco man is being charged with murder after allegedly stabbing a fellow restaurant diner over his crass remarks about a waitress.

Carlos Padilla-Ovedio, 25, was at the Durango restaurant in Daly City last week when another semi-regular, Jesus Hernandez, 33, began making "rude comments to the female waitress," police Lt. Jay Morena told Tuesday's San Francisco Chronicle. Padilla-Ovedio allegedly then stabbed Hernandez in the torso and ran out the door before the victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital and pronounced dead.

A sketch of the suspect helped detectives track him down Sunday afternoon and make an arrest.

Morena said it was unclear whether the motive was a desire to be "a knight in shining armor saving the damsel in distress, machismo, or he just got tired hearing this guy popping off."
